Welcome to West Glenalmond Estate

Conichan is a charming 300-year-old farmhouse nestling in the Sma’ Glen at the centre of the 6,500 acre West Glenalmond Estate.

Perched off a dirt track, three and a half miles from a main road, and surrounded by heather-clad hills, it is the perfect antidote to the stress of modern living. In the evenings deer come down from the hills to the fence surrounding the house.

Virtually every piece of furniture in the house was recovered from buildings on the estate. An antique dresser in the drawing room once housed chicken feed, while twin headboards with a barley twist detail were salvaged in bits from different sheds! The claw-foot bath was retrieved from a field, where it made an ideal drinking trough for cows.

The house has been completely renovated and redecorated to a high standard with underfloor heating, power shower, and an oil fired Aga with gas and electric Aga module attached.

The house has the benefit of flagstone floors throughout on the ground floor, a large kitchen/dining room with Aga and a large drawing room.

The main body of the house has a double-height drawing room. This vast space, with its neck-craning ceiling, is filled with eye-catching pieces. The main bedrooms lead off two symmetrical staircases at either end of the drawing room.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is a tranquil haven with views across the Chultrain hills. This room also has a large en-suite, complete with roll-top bath and his and hers sinks.

There are a further two bedrooms on the first floor at the far end of the house, and two further bedrooms downstairs.
